Subject: Re: [HPLX] TT/LX users?

Hi friends,

there seems to be enough interest in this topic to justify some more work...
<g>

Okay, to create HTML reports from Timetracker/LX, please download
http://www.daniel-hertrich.de/download/ttrep.zip.

It contains:

* ttrep.bat: The central batch file * get.com, gsar.exe, lx2win.exe: Tools
needed by ttrep.bat * html.fmt: The TT/LX fmt file (=HTML template for reports)
* html.htm: An example HTML report, created by html.fmt.

Usage:

* Copy all the files into the TT/LX directory. * Create a report from TT/LX
using HTML.FMT and name it "test.htm" * Run "ttrep.bat test.htm"
--> You are asked for a date. Enter it in MM/YYYY format, e.g.
11/2004 (or in whichever format you like) and press enter.

(What happens: GET.COM handles the user input of the date. GSAR.EXE replaces
all [ with < and all ] with > in the report file to make it a valid HTML file.
It also replaces all occurrences of $$$MONTH$$$ with the date you entered.
LX2WIN converts the high-ASCII characters to a windows-friednly format. In the
FMT file I could not use < and > for HTML tags, because TT/LX uses these
characters for its own tags. I had to substitute the < and > for HTML tags in
some way and resubstitute them after the report creation.)

* Copy the test.htm file to a desktop PC and open it with your favorite
browser.

-----------

I will soon release a new version of TT/LX which supports execution of the
ttrep batch file directly from within TT/LX, so no need to execute it
externally anymore. It will also support what you see in the example report
html.htm: Only in lines where the date CHANGES the date it PRINTED. This makes
the report much more convenient to read, IMHO.

Have fun!
