BL21X.TXT by Daniel Hertrich
============================

The original driver by Stefan Peichl is backlite.com.
It uses the hotkey Fn-X, which is a very convenient hotkey for
German and most international palmtop, as it allows one-finger
(thumb) switching of the backlight.
Please read BACKLITE.DOC. It contains usage information
about backlite.com.

Only if BACKLITE.COM does not work properly, or if you
want another hotkey, you may consider using one of the
bl21X.com drivers. These are derivates of backlite.com
with the same functionality but different hotkeys.

There are three reasons to use another hotkey:

1. Fn-X does not work on your palmtop (there are palmtops which
do not produce a key code when pressing Fn-X. Some even produce
one in DOS but don't produce one under System Manager)

2. You would like to use the degree character (), which is
normally produced by Fn-X

3. You prefer another hotkey for convenience.

Change the hotkey of this driver by patching at offsets 0x0A
and 0x0B.
I have prepared a set of COM files using other hotkeys.
I renamed the drivers by adding an index to the version name
(2.1a, 2.1b...). The welcome screeen of the modified drivers
show the new hotkey, too.

Here is an overview:

Driver name 0x0A 0x0B Hotkey

backlite.com: 0xF8 0X2D Fn-X
bl21a.com: 0xF4 0x2C Fn-Y
bl21b.com: 0x00 0x15 Alt-Y
bl21c.com: 0x00 0x2C Alt-Z
bl21d.com: 0xFE 0x30 Fn-B
bl21e.com: 0x9C 0x26 Fn-L
