Working (occasionally!) in an office which boasts a laser printer, I
thought, out of sheer devilment, one day, that I'd try Steve
Butterworth's DeskJet printer driver with the LaserJet!

The fact of my partial success lead me to experiment further resulting
in the two printer drivers before you now.

They are based upon a LaserJet II lacking any fount cartridges, so I
have attempted to make the best of what's available. This, to my
surprise, was less than I'd expect from a budget dot-matrix printer,
albeit the quality is superb.

%H1%What's on offer?

Essentially, very little. I couldn't coax italics out of it at all,
nor super/sub-script, but bold and underline were a doddle! After a
little more experimentation I found it was possible to use the
"Line_Printer" fount, i.e. condensed, and so I have used this for both
superscript and the alternative fount.

Before using. ensure that the laser printers front panel shows 66 lines
per page, otherwise you'll have to alter all your PipeDream defaults -
this despite many attempts to set the page length by lines on printer
initialisation from the Z88!

The standard printer driver (Z064A) is for 80 column output, 66 lines
per A4 sheet (portrait).

The spreadsheet printer driver (Z064B) uses the condensed fount and
prints sideways (landscape) producing 132 column output. Note, however,
that for some reason, you must set you PipeDream page length (<>O) to
60 lines on this occasion!
