The following steps assume you have standard installation
disks for both MS-DOS 6.20 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11--
in addition to your master backup disks of the special
OmniBook files. (If you use disks for MS-DOS 6.21 or 6.22
instead, the resulting installation will differ from the
original OmniBook installation, especially regarding the
operation of data compression.)

 1. Plug in the ac adapter in case the battery is low.

 2. If you haven't already done so after inserting a new hard
    disk, press the reset button.

If the OmniBook boots successfully from drive C, the new
disk may already be formatted and contain valid files. If
so, you can stop here and update selected files from a
    previous backup as needed.

 3. Plug in an OmniBook floppy drive.

 4. Install MS-DOS 6.2 from its installation disks.

 5. Install Windows for Workgroups 3.11 from its installation
    disks.

 6. If Windows is running, close any open applications, then exit
Program Manager (and Windows)--you can press ALT+F4 in Program
    Manager to do this.

 7. Insert the LAST OmniBook backup disk in the floppy drive.

 8. At the MS-DOS prompt, type HPCORE.

 9. From the main MSBACKUP menu, choose the Restore option.

10. In the Restore screen, highlight the Restore Files box, then
press SPACEBAR to select all files.

11. Choose Start Restore.

12. When prompted, insert your OmniBook backup disks in numerical
    order.

13. When the recovery is complete, remove the disk from the floppy
drive, then press CTRL+ALT+DEL. The OmniBook should boot from
    the new drive C.
