I have a new problem. Actually, it's not my problem, but a
friend's. His CMOS battery died, and after replacing the
battery, his PC won't recognize his hard disk. It can boot to
A:, but when he then tried to change drives, the system says C is
invalid. He is unable to access his BIOS settings. <DEL> or
<F1> does not work.

He has an old Tandy 4000 (286 or 386, I don't know). I suspect
that he needs a system disk to change the BIOS settings, but he
says he longer has any original disks or manuals.

Any ideas on how to get his system to recognize the hard drive?

Thanks.

Philip

See the file DISKREPL.TXT in LIB 1 on how to obtain replacement
system disks. A few methods are described.
