I am trying to replace a faulty floppy drive on a 1400LT. The
drive is a Citizen, labelled OSDC-95A. It does not have the usual
4-pin power connector + 34 pin interface cable, but a 26 pin
combined power/interface connector. It is quite unlike a
"standard" Citizen OSDC/OSDD drive which I have (and for which I
have a manual).

Anyone know anything about these - eg possible source, how to
cable "standard" drive etc.

The 1400 was a specific model made for Tandy in which all
the machine specifications were designed by Tandy Corporation.
This in turn will stop you from finding componets on the
available market to repair the system.

There are many items in the computer that were made by
different companies which are no longer available. There were
two companies that supported the laptops that Tandy made in the
years gone by but both are out of business. This was caused by
the supply of available parts drying up.

Some of the parts for the laptops are still available from
Tandy direct parts, no matter what they tell you because they
still have to support the units that are in schools. These were
sold with the understanding (Like the Trsdos machines) that as
long as they used Tandy they would support the product. If you
check some of the repair stations parts can be gotten. Main
problem is that you will not like the price. Best bet is to use
the machine for what you can and when the end comes, pick up
another.

Would like to hear from anyone that knows of an actual
supplier that has parts for the Tandy laptops.

Good luck...... BobR out here in the
