Hi there

I wonder if anyone can help me. A neighbour of mine has a Mitac
486 DX2-66 with 4MB RAM and is running Windows95. The computer
was purchased with this set up from Tandy. Obviously it is
running rather slowly and he wants to change it to Dos 6.2 and
Windows 3.1. The problem he has relates to the soundcard and CD
Rom. He doesn't have Dos drivers for them. Now I understand
that Mitac fit their own Soundcards and CD Roms so presumably
only drivers supplied by them will work. I have E-mailed Mitac
and they have ignored my plea for help. I have been told by
other people that Mitac are less than helpful and this is
certainly proving to be the case.
If anyone knows of anywhere that I can obtain these drivers I
would be most grateful.

Thanks
Dave

Take a 3.5" disk down to your local Radio Shack and
have them transfer the files needed. They have all the master
files needed for any of the DOS machines they made and/or sold.

Hi Robert

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately it is a long way to my
local Radio Shack store as I live in the UK and we don't have
Radio Shack over here. Tandy is supposed to be the UK equivalent
by they don't keep the master files. My quest continues.

Regards
Dave

Dave,

What exactly do you need and maybe there is a way to get
them to you.

I am not adverse to use the mail system or a package
express company.

Hi Bob

I have found the driver for the CD Rom, it was a Sony 76E and I
found the driver on sony web page.
I am having more trouble with the soundcard. It is a Reveal and
has the following numbers on it
FCC ID: K2Y-PRO16
21-008-012
REV.4G-1
59-006781F-1004

Reveal have just gone bankrupt. They used to have a forum on
Compuserve but it has closed. I have the Sysop in MulitB forum
looking into the problem but any help you could give would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks for the offer.

Dave
