I used to hang around here a lot when I was running my old Model
3 then the Model 4, but like most other people I finely moved to
a dos machine and have been using just windows. My question is
as follows: I still have my old DMP 2110 printer that was
working very well before I upgraded my computer system. I am
wondering if there is any way to use this old printer with my new
DOS system? Although for just about everything I do my laser
printer is great, there are some times when an impact printer
would be great (printing multiple part forms, etc.). If at all
possible I would like to print from my Word for Windows program,
although I know that I wouldn't be able to do anything fancy.
Anyone with any ideas, please Email to me. Thanks in advance.
Doug

You should be able to set the DIP switches so that the DMP-2110
emulates the IBM Graphic printer, and use that driver in Windows
for fancy printing. See the file TPRWIN.TXT in LIB 1 for
details. It's possible you might have to get a special printer
cable from Tandy to connect the printer to a clone. I just moved
so don't have the reference handy for the cable part number.

Thanks for the reply. I will look up that text file to see if I
can get some ideas. Hopefully it will work for me. Doug
