Short BackGround
----------------
Once upon a time in a small country called Denmark which was so incredibly
old-fashioned, that they actually still had a queen who had sons who did not
make scandals. Hhhmm, actually they did but that is another story.
In this small country a filemanager lived, and was used by a quite small group
of people. It was written by a man called Niels Dybdahl, whom noone ever came to
know who was, but they were very grateful for what he had written.
Years came to pass and noone knew if there was new versions of the filemanager
released, so one day some of the FM-users decided it was time to for a new
version to be created. There was a lot of talking about what should be included
in this new incarnation and more important, who should program it.
And one day one of the users started this, quite extensive as it turned out,
project which should haunt him day and night for just about a month before an
initial beta version could be released. Just before that he went on a small
holiday to Sweden bringing his small portable computer on which he at this
precise moment is writing this precise word -> Hi!

        - If you want you can be notified about new releases

Please support the development of this software!

Actual Documentation (or lack of the same)
------------------------------------------
To write documentation in simple english just after programming object-
orientated pascal must be something like reading all Winny the Poo-books just
after completing the collected works of Kierkegaard. Ok, bad comparison, but the
result is that I really cannot concentrate on writing a full documentation, when
I really have to find bugs in my program. Therefore I will just discuss a few
subject concerning the use of my FileManager:
  1. Read the help text (F1), if you do not understand the commands assigned to
  keys you probably won't have use for them, anyway.
  2. Most commands work on subdirectories too! Be careful... I assume no
  responsebility what so ever for loss of data!
  3. At this moment a few bugs may still haunt the program, if you want to help
  me, please read the part about bugs below.
  4. A question you might want to ask: If you have to write a FileManager, why
  not design it to use a, by others, well-known user-interface, like Norton
  Commander <tm> etc.?
    A: I wrote this program mainly for my own sake being well supported by those
    of my friends who also was addicted to the old FM. One of the promises I
    made to them when I started this project was that all keypresses would be
    exactly the same as in the old one; a promise I have almost kept. If you do
    not like this user-interface (which I humbly believes is better than NC's in
    many ways) then do not use it. It is as simple as that. But I assure you,
    that when you have learned the keyboard commands (which actually is quite
    intuitive C for copy, and so on) it will be lightning fast to use!

Maybe a full documentation will be available at a later time.

Bugs
----
Yes, they may still be there.
Here is what to do if you come across a bug and want to help me:
  1. Try to make the program fail again, that is find out exactly what and under
  what circumstances things go wrong.
  2. Send me an email describing the bug and as much information about your
  system as possible. Most important is: What type of disk you where working on,
  under which OS, you were working, and what runtime-error, if any, the program
  reported when it crashed.

New features
------------
If you have suggestions please mail me. If you can, it would be a great
help if you could include some source concerning the feature (C, Pas, Basic). If
you would like to help writing documentation or correct errors in these humble
textfiles, please mail me, too.

Adresses
--------
Eventhough you have not any bugs to report, features to include etc., you
could just write me a note saying what you think about this small program.

** Personal **

 -> Morten Bgeskov <bogeskov@diku.dk>
QuickSort, TreeSort, SuperFast Direct ScreenWrites, general help and
probably a lot of other things I forgot to mention.

 -> Bjarke Korsager <bjarke.korsager@geo.geol.ku.dk>
 -> Mick Hansen
A lot of testing and complaining about bugs ;-) But more importantly a lot
of support and suggestions for the whole idea.

 -> Johannes Rebel
General help and moral (?) support.

 -> Sune Larsen
Distributing FileManager Pro from his BBS, including putting one version
online for FREQ after another.

 -> Sune Nielsen
Suggesting ShortCutKeys in DOS-console and highlighting of found words in
viewer...

 -> Thomas Regin Hansen
Suggesting small cosmetic improvements.

** General **

 -> Mark Adler, Richard B. Wales, Jean-loup Gailly, Onno van der Linden,
 -> Kai Uwe Rommel, Igor Mandrichenko and John Bush
They made ZIP and UNZIP which made a lot of things a lot easier for me!

 -> Charles W. Sandmann
He wrote CWSDMPS, a DOS-extender which is used by ZIP and UNZIP

 -> D. J. Murdoch
He made the incredible STREAMS-unit which I use a lot in this program.

 -> G. Hoogterp
Did an excellent OOP-archive-browsing-unit, which made working with packed
files a LOT easier!

 ->Thomas Wagner
He is the cause for the FileManager only using 1.5 kb of conventional memory
when executing a DOS-program.

** Special **

 -> Niels Dybdahl
He made the Original FileManager (see FM.DOC) and without him copying files
would have taken _several_ more minutes of my life than it did!
