Overview
--------

This program will give the color code for resistors, or compute the value
of a resistor given the color code.

Installation
------------

Transfer RESISTOR to the HP 48 and change to the RESIS directory.

Operation
---------

Select the |RESIS| directory in the VAR menu and press |START|.

Use the [NXT] key to toggle between the three menus at the bottom of the
display. The highlighted menu is the active one.

Use the up- and down-arrow keys to move the selected stripe up and down.

Press the first menu key ("A") on the first menu to execute the "ENTER
RESISTOR VALUE" function.

|NO C| stands for no color. It is used only on the tolerance stripe.

To determine the value of a resistor from its color stripes, select each
stripe and press the appropriate menu key (after selecting the required
menu) to specify the color. As each stripe is changed, the value shown at
the upper right will change.

To determine the color code and closest actual resistor to a desired
resistance value, select the top menu and press the first menu key. Key in
the value in Ohms and press [ENTER]. The closest actual resistor value to
the resistance keyed in will be displayed along with its color code.

Press |EXIT| to leave the program.
