1.0     Introduction

This release of the ATI Video Player is designed for use with the 
following ATI products and the ATI-TV TUNER.   
	
     ALL IN WONDER
     3D PRO TURBO and 3D PRO TURBO PC2TV
     3D XPRESSION+ and 3D XPRESSION+ PC2TV
     3D CHARGER
     3D XPRESSION
     VIDEO XPRESSION+ and VIDEO XPRESSION
     All other 3D RAGE II+, 3D RAGE II, 3D RAGE and VT based ATI 
     products.

If your ATI product came pre-installed in a complete system, you may
already have a special driver version installed (eg. IBM, AST, Gateway,
NEC, Sony).  ATI graphic chips are implimented on many 3rd party
products.  You should contact your system integrator for drivers certified
for use with your system, especially if the ATI chip is incorporated on
the motherboard.  

Prior to installing this version of the ATI Video Player, 

    -Previous versions of the ATI Player MUST be uninstalled.
     The ATI SETUP program included with the previous version of the
     ATI Video Player can be used to uninstall the software or you may use
     Add/Remove Programs from the Windows 95 Control Panel to remove the
     ATI Player.
  
    -Windows 95 MUST BE CONFIGURED for the ATI v4.03.2139 or v4.03.2162
     Windows 95 ATI Display Driver.
  
    -Windows 95 MUST have DirectX 2 or later installed.  DirectX is not
     included with this version of the ATI Video Player.
     The current version of DirectX can be found at

2.0	System Requirements

We recommend a 3D RAGE II+, 3D RAGE II, 3D RAGE I or VT based ATI product
for use with this version of the the ATI Video Player.  The minimum 
recommended system is a Pentium with a double speed CD ROM.  This product
is Windows 95 compatible.

Windows 95 must be configured with the v4.03.2139 or 4.03.2162 display driver
before installing the ATI Player.

Windows 95 must have DirectX 2 or later installed.

3.0	Installation Notes

If you haved installed a previous version of the ATI Video Player you must
uninstall it before installing v3.1.  The ATI SETUP program included with 
the previous version of the ATI Video Player can be used to uninstall the
software or you may use Add/Remove Programs from the Windows 95 Control Panel
to uninstall the Player.

To uncompress W95PLY31.EXE and install the ATI Video Player use the following
procedure.

1.  Start Windows 95.

2.  Install the required Windows 95 ATI Display Driver.

3.  Confirm DirectX 2 or later has been previously installed by running
    DXSETUP.EXE from C:\PROGRAM FILES\DIRECTX\ and look under Component for
    Direct3D.  If DXSETUP.EXE is not found you should download and install 
    the most recent version of DirectX from Microsoft.  If the DirectX setup
    program asks to overwrite your display driver during installation select
    NO to keep the ATI supplied display driver.
    
4.  a) Select Run from the Start icon 
    OR 
    b) Use Windows Explorer to select W95PLY31.EXE and skip Step #5.

5.  When asked for the file to run, enter W95PLY31.EXE from the directory
    it was downloaded into. 

6.  Follow the instructions displayed to uncompress the installation
    files into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY.

7.  The ATI SETUP utility will be run from C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY.

8.  Follow the instructions displayed in ATI SETUP.  

9.  Restart the computer to run Windows 95 and test the ATI Video Player.
 
After successfully installing the ATI Video Player, you can delete the
contents of the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY using the 'Remove ATI
Player Temp Files' icon.

We recommend that you keep a copy of W95PLY31.EXE, in case you need to
install the ATI Player again.

4.0     Generating a Problem Report

If contacting Technical Support regarding a problem you are experiencing
please complete the Problem Report Wizard in the ATI Desktop Help Wizard.

1. Right click on the red ATI Toolbar icon.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select ATI DeskTop Help.

4. From the Troubleshooting menu select Problem Report Wizard.

5. Follow the instructions displayed in the help to complete the Problem
   Report. 

Have the Problem Report available when contacting us by phone or send the
completed report to us by fax or email.
