1 == General information about Nautilus NetRanger ==

Nautilus NetRanger is a powerful and handy Internet
toolkit, presenting all the tools you need such as:
- Ping
- TraceRoute
- Host lookup
- Finger
- Time/DayTime
- WhoIs
- HostScanner
- NetInfo
- MailKit
- Quick-dialing
- QoD
to help diagnose network problems and get network
information.

Furthermore, it comes with a very high performance
in virtue of its enhanced multi-threading capablility,
as well as a highly intuitive interface, in which many
amazing features are integrated, such as tray icon,
smart address parsing, check for upgrade online, view
local IP address, save to log, and even more.

REQUIREMENTS
- Windows 98/ME/NT4/2000/XP
- Internet Explorer 4+
- A working TCP/IP connection to a LAN or the Internet

NOTE for Windows NT4/2000/XP users
To run ICMP tools (including Ping, TraceRoute,
HostScanner), you must have administrative privileges. 
Otherwise your attemp will receive an "access denied"
error.

NOTE for Windows NT4 users
To run NetRanger, you must have Service Pack4+
installed on your NT system.

REGISTRATION                    
Nautilus NetRanger is shareware. After a 40 day
trial period, you must either register it or remove
it from your computer.

We recommend you to use full installation package to
install this software. Before you install it, please
uninstall any previous release.

To uninstall this software, just click the
"uninstall" icon in the program group you installed.

- Fixed a major bug that produced wrong scan result 
of PingScan in HostScanner .
- Fixed the bug that average time would become zero
 after running for a very long time in HostScanner.
- Fixed the bug that the elapsed timer did not stop

- The elapsed time will be displayed at the status bar
if the IPScanner is running.
- A right-click menu is added into the new mail list
window. In this menu, you can select to "Mark all" or
"Unmark all" of the deletion checkboxes of all mails.
- Fixed the bug that sometimes the input in TCP tools 
(Lookup, Finger, Whois, Time, Qodt) was not saved to 
the input history.
- Fixed the bug that Whois and IPScanner were sharing 
the same input history.
- Fixed the bug that the data of a dialup connection
was not refreshed after the conneciton was re-established.
- Fixed the bug that caused the program exit abnormally 
when the number of emails in a mailbox exceeded 128.

- A brand-new MDI-style user interface is introduced. 
Much more straightforward, convenient, and intuitive.

- A new tool, NetInfo, is introduced. You can view 
information about network connections, network statistic 
data, network interfaces, IP routing table, and ARP table 
in this tool.

- Completely redesigned HostScanner, Ping, and TraceRoute.
much faster, more accurate, and convenient!
  Now you can issue a scan combining resolve scan, PingScan 
  and PortScan altogether with a maximum of 100 threads.

- Dial-up connection monitor panel and monitor window are 
added. 
You can use these two tools to monitor the bandwidth usage 
of a dial-up conneciton.

- All new designed newmail scroll window:
  Now you can change the background color and the text 
color; change the text  font, and even set the window to 
be transparent (only available on Windows 2000/XP).
  
- lots and lots of other improvements. Try them out by 
yourself.

- Now NetRanger works on Windows XP!
In order to solve this compatibility problem, two
different builds of NetRanger are released: one for
Windows 2000/XP and the other one for Windows
98/ME/NT4. The installation program automatically
decides which build to install according to your
currently running Windows.
- All functionalities of PortScanner have been
integrated into IPScanner. Now you can scan multiple
hosts' ports.
- Now NetRanger can display detailed information of
a dial-up connection on Windows 98.
- Now NetRanger can start up even without RAS
(dial-up network) present in current Windows system.
- A new feature "Start minimized" added.
- A list of servers around the world added to the
Whois and Time tool respectively. These lists are
customizable.
- The bug that saving a mail account without new it
first would cause the program crash has been fixed.
- The bug that "Clear" did not clear the host
resolving result in IPScanner has been fixed.
- A bug in the MailKit that sometimes caused a GPF
error has been fixed.
- Lots of other minor improvements.

sender of a new mail were missed.
- Fixed the bug of wrong ping statistics data

mailbox will make only the new mails of that mailbox
displayed in the right mail listbox.
- Now the 'abort' button works in MailKit.

- Improved the output layout of NetStat and Time
tools.
- Improved the accuracy of Time query.

introduced. Now you can choose to just resolve the
