To install SBX, run the "Sbx14.exe" file. The shareware version
of SBX is freely distributable; always distribute the entire
"Sbx14.exe" setup file.

				  SBX
			          Version 1.4

SBX, the SpinnerBaker eXtractor - version 1.4, is an easy to use archive
maker and extractor. It creates its own brand of archives, with an SB file
extension, and registers the extension, so all you have to do is double click
an archive from Windows Explorer to open it. It supports directories in the
archive, and will turn any SBX archive into a self extracting archive which
is more user friendly than most.
Self extracting archives (sometimes called executable archives) have been
around a long time. Their biggest advantage is that they require no archive
program to extract their files. You just run them, and presto, the files are
extracted. Their biggest problem is that they don't give you a clue what's
in the archive.

Introducing the SpinnerBaker self eXtractor..... maker of a better self
extracting archive. Why is its executable archive better? Here's why:

1. An SBX archive presents you with an archive title before extracting
anything. If you've ever forgotten what one of those DOS executable
archives were, and run it just to see, you probably weren't too happy
to see a large collection of new files appear in the directory where
it was residing (My Microsoft DirectX archive quickly extracted 165
files into its directory without warning). An SBX archive presents a
dialog box with an archive title before it extracts anything.
2. An SBX archive lets you know where it's going to put the extracted files.
Like those DOS executable archives, SBX doesn't do directories. It
simply extracts the files into its own directory (and any subdirectories
it may create). But before it extracts anything, it tells you where the
files will be put. If the directory is not a temporary directory,
suitable for extracting an archive, you can exit, and move the archive
to another directory before extracting files.
3. If the archive creator set the option, you can extract the archive's
readme file, and open it with Notepad, just by clicking a button. No
other files will be extracted until and unless you want them extracted.
4. If the option is set, an SBX archive can launch a setup program. If the
SBX archive is being used to extract program files, it can be set to
ask the user if he wants to run the setup program after it extracts the
files. A click of a button will exit the SBX archive, and launch the
    setup program.
5. Like any good executable archive, an SBX archive has good compression,
and not much size added by the executable code. If the archive has no
long file names, the Win31 SBX executable adds less than 10kb to the
archive. SBX can also create a Win95 archive, which can handle long
    file names.

Thiw shareware version is for personal use only. It has most of the
features of the registered version, but users are NOT licensed to distribute
archives made with it. Read the "license.txt" file for the full shareware
license agreement; it also contains the registered license agreement. If you
like SBX, register it. It creates self executable archives which are better
than the big boys' executable archives, and costs less. The purchase price
is just $10, and allows unlimited distribution of archives created with it.

Requirements: Windows95 and 400kb of hard drive space.
