Welcome to FMCCPS instructions page! thank you for downloading!

Synopsis:
This software was first designed for my senior year project in UCE.
This system is designed to allow small to medium size manufacturing companies
to keep track of their parts and to logically build products and assess the
estimate cost for their customers. This version only allows the use of four digit
codes to be used as identification for parts, customers, and assembled items.
For enquiries in getting the full edition tailored for your company, write me
at rocko23@lovemail.com. PLease enjoy the system and let me know you like it.

Installing:
After unzipping the file, click on setup to run the installation. Follow
the instructions given in the setup program. The system requires 32 bit
Windows 9x OS system, and VGA with 32 bit colors (800x600). VB6.dll is required
for the system to run (installed within the program). The program will
also need DAO for it's database.

Getting started:
Once you run the program, you will received a welcome new user screen.
To get started, go to File on top and select New Company. (The program
allows up to 10 companies using the program). You will be prompted to
enter in the name of the company (larger than 4 characters). After words,
the system will automatically load up the company settings for you to set.
You can go back and change the settings at any time. You are ready to add in
your customers, parts, items, etc.
Make sure the program is executed directly from it's directory, or
teh system will have a problem in locating certain files.

Loading old company:
Once you set a new company, you can load up the company file from the
File menu. You can select any company within the list. If you close the program
without closing the company, that company will automatically load in the
next session.

Making vendor and classification codes:
In order to improve data entry methods, the system uses codes to identify
the class and vendor of a part. Under the Settings menu, you can select eithor
Vendor or classification to add or edit the codes. Just scroll up or down to the
right code and fill in the blank. Press Save to secure new changes.

New Parts:
Once the company is set, you can now enter in all of the parts.
Some fields will be text, and others make use of menus, like vendor
or class of the part. Make sure all fields, except memo is completely
filled out before saving. Any part can be assisted with a picture by selecting
the picturebox. For speedy viewing, you can select the left or right arrow
to see the next or previous part (Warning: any changes made will be lost
without saving). right-click on the price field to automatically set the
price from the cost and markup rate.

Customers:
Adding in the customers will follow the same method as adding in the
parts. Once a customer is made, you can sell a part or item to that
person.

Items:
When designing a new item, it will prompt for the name of item, then
a window for selecting parts for that item will open up. The fields will
be set with the company's default values. Any values can be changed except
for the overall costs. To add in a part, select an open space in the list
(not grey). You will open up a box that will allow you to select a part or another
item to put in. Labour hours and quantity must be set.
You can select an old part to change at any time. any new changes will
affect the overall costs.

The Database table:
Once the user selects customer, parts, or items, he/she will see table of
records below. To open up a record, double click or select that record and press
edit. Any field on the table can be sorted by clicking on the labels
 above.

Enjoy the software. This software is a trial version but can be used
for a small company if needed. go to my homepage for more updates.
