		INSTALLING / UNINSTALLING

INSTALL.Txt is an ASCII file that may be read with any text reader, such as the Windows NotePad program. It is also available from within the Retirement Planner program from the pull down Help Menu Bar.

This ShareWare program is normally distributed as a single file, RETIRE.Zip. It will operate only from a Windows program.

INSTALLATION

Use PKUNZIP, or comparable decompression program, to decompress this file to a new directory (folder), perhaps named C:\RETIRE if not already used.

You should then have the following files in your program directory (folder):

README.TXT	Program description, installation instructions, and point of contact.

Retire.EXE	The executable program.

Budget.dta	A file containing your budget data.

UserID.Txt	Initially blank. Automatically revised when you register.

14 Help files	Named as follows:

	Adjust.txt
	Availabl.txt
	Benefits.txt
	Budgets.txt
	Cats.txt
	Contact.txt
	Deposits.txt
	Disclaim.txt
	Expenses.txt
	Install.txt (this file)
	Intro.txt
	Purpose.txt
	Sharewar.txt
	Tutor.txt

The program files require on the order of 750 Kbytes of disk space.

You may then delete the RETIRE13.ZIP file.

(Please save the RETIRE13.ZIP file if you plan to give it to your friends.)

STARTING THE PROGRAM

To run the RETIREMENT PLANNER program, change to the RETIRE directory (folder) that you chose and type/Enter RETIRE. (The executable program is RETIRE.Exe)

You may use the Run command from the Program Manager or Explorer, depending on the version of Windows that you are using.

You may find it more convenient to set the program up with an icon in a program group and/or put a short cut icon on your desktop.

UNINSTALLING

All of the above program files must be located in your selected program directory (folder).

The program does not create any new files.

Should you need to delete the program, merely delete all of the files from the program directory (folder), C:\RETIRE, if used. Then delete the program directory.

There are no Windows\System files to delete so there is no need for an Uninstall program.
