[Properties]

Rhenium is an extremely hard, dense, silvery-white metal. It is acid
resistant and does not dissolve at all in hydrochloric acid. Its melting
temperature is among the highest of all known elements. If rhenium were
not so heavy and rare, it would be an ideal structural metal for
instruments used in hazardous environments.
Rhenium is in Group VIIB of the transition metals.
